Designing a business card can be daunting. If you don’t have a company logo and colours in mind, it can almost be like staring at a blank sheet of paper as you prepare to write your research paper back in college. Where do you begin? Below are the key components you need to keep in mind with your business card design.
The one thing that is truly unique: your company name and logo. Use it! Brand yourself!
If you don’t have a company logo, consider using your own name with a strong and descriptive title.
Colours excite people and evoke emotion. Choose your colours wisely. Do you want to be bright and bold or reserved and cool? Do you want the colour scheme to contrast and stand out, or be subtle and harmonize?
Difference fonts can give a card style and flare, make it sophisticated, or make it look smart. Combining the right font in the proper location is so important to the impression your company makes.
Do you want plain white stock, thick, cotton, plastic, translucent, or metal? Would you like your card to be rough or smooth, coated, or uncoated? There are many options when selecting the cards type of paper and texture.
While the standard is safe, maybe you could go with something a little smaller or maybe even larger? How about a square business card? What about a circle? You could even do a ninja star! Don’t be a square. Think outside the box.
