Brand is the encouraging agenda of today’s corporate world. It is the brand through which the marketing activities are revealed, plus the brand is the key to the achievements of a company. The vertical and horizontal proportions of the logo should be sustained. The logo should be easily readable in colored printed materials like brochures or on posters. A light color background could be used for the logo if it is not possible. The main objective should be that the logo should be easily read on any material. Using a busy background is never recommended. The inverse white colored version of the logo is to be employed on darker backgrounds like black or dark blue. A black and white colored logo is to be used if the colored edition of the logo cannot be used. Whenever the logo is reproduced in black and white, it should appear as dark black. And when a darker background is employed then the company logo should be prominent as a solid white. It is better to follow the guidelines for placing the logo. The least distance between the text and placement of logo should be 10% of the width of the logo. The same rule can be applied for any kind of logo. The graphic should be positioned at a specified minimum distance from the logo so that the identity is communicated in an effective manner. This is the free region surrounding the logo having no graphics and is known as Clear Space.
Typography has a significant part to play in the logo identity. In each of the promotional materials, consistent typography shows the promise to deliver professionalism. The basis of the printed promotional materials logotype is the Trade Gothic. Arial can be used as an alternative if Trade Gothic font isn’t available. One thing to be certain of is the overall integrity and the visual impact made by the logo should not be weakened or compromised. Logos are the specific stylish graphic representation of the company or a brand. It’s not just a symbol or an image, but it’s a piece of artwork.
